The Poqueira Hut sits at 2500m below the SW face of Mulhacen, the highest mountain in mainland Spain. The best winter access is normally by the Poqueira Gorge via the Cebedilla electric complex. The route is normally very straightforward, protected from winds and more sheltered than other access routes.
