The weather in the month has been strange for the Alpujarras. The first half of the month saw unusually warm and clear conditions. Little snow was to be found on the high peaks. In contrast the second half has seen very mixed weather with prolonged periods of cloud and rain. Indeed, some of the heaviest rain seen in these parts for many years with 49mm in one hour on 22nd December. The mixed spell has continued into the first part of January.
