The end of the summer and onset of autumn has been marked by early season snowfall in the Sierra Nevada. The last two  days have brought over 20mm of rain to lower levels and snowfall above 2800m. Some of the fall has been in the form of “granizos” or large hailstones.

Daytime temperatures have dropped by over 10 deg C since last week when Granada had over 35 deg. temperatures at the Borreguiles ski mid-station today will drop to 3 deg.

Our guides have reported very cold temperatures on Mulhacen over the weekend and full winter clothing is recommended at the moment.

More snowfall is expected in the next 3 days with the adverse weather continuing.
