We have discovered some great accommodation in nearby, Orgiva, if you are coming out here to the Alpujarras and Sierra Nevada this coming winter.
David Thomas and Anna De Bailleul have been completely renovating and restoring a town house in central Orgiva. All accommodation is located on the first floor, this comprises of three twin bedded rooms, inclusive of wet rooms, WiFi, Flat Screen Televisions and Apple docking stations. The house is very close to the bars, restaurants and shops of central Orgiva.
They have a garden for relaxing in which contain orange, lemon and fig trees. (plans for a plunge pool are awaited). They purchased the house three years ago, and decided that it should be demolished and rebuilt to their specifications. They used a local building company which allowed them to maintain an authentic Andalucian look with a minimalistic modern feel, whilst still in keeping with the village.
Their website at http://www.casanumero61.com explains their philosophy…………
“Like you we enjoy the mountain experience, the freedom, the challenge, the exposure, and the feeling of expanding our horizons. And like you we also enjoy the good things in life that we have worked hard for, that is why at “Casanumero61″ we strive to accommodate your needs both on and off the mountain.
Once you have been in the mountains, whether that be skiing, mountaineering or whichever activity you have decided to undertake on your return you would like space, comfort and time to relax. Comfortable twin rooms, egyptian cotton bed linen, underfloor heating, wet rooms, wi-fi, flat screen TV, apple docking stations.”
Available will be three twin en-suite rooms all with underfloor heating.
Room 1 – Sierra Nevada room (views of the Sierra Nevada from the balcony) Euro 50 room per night
Room 2 – Sierra de Lugar room (views of the Sierra Luja from the balcony) Euro 50 per room per night
Room 3 – Mirador room (this has a connected mirador looking out over the Sierra de Lugar) Euro 55 per room per night
Breakfast, pack lunch, evening meal can all be provided at a further cost.
An evening meal is offered, the choice is exactly what you would expect with a Spanish/ Moroccan influence, and of course local produce is always used wherever possible. Knowing David and Anna I am sure that a warm and friendly atmosphere await you.
