Sierra Nevada chairliftFor this coming summer mountain access via Pradollano to the Sierra Nevada mountains will be available again. The ski company, Cetursa, will be opening the access gondola to Borreguiles and the Veleta chairlift beyond.

The lifts will open on 27th June and remain open until 30th August. This allows you to climb from  2.100 m of altitude to  3.000m below the Veleta peak in 20 minutes.  I normally find it advisable to take the first half an hour walking very slowly after leaving the Veleta chairlift!

From the Veleta chairlift the Collado de Cariguela can be reached in an hour and Mulhacen can be done in a long day. We have also used this in the past to hike back to Lanjaron in the same day. A long, hard 10 hour walking day with a 2400m descent at the end!

Cost is €10 (special prices for minors, seniors, groups etc, see below).

Timetable Telecabina Borreguiles:
Open 09:00 h. Last descent 17:45 h.

Timetable Telesilla Veleta II:
Open 09:00 h. Last descent 17:15 h.
