The Sierra Nevada, SpainThe Guardia Civil Mountain Rescue of Granada has rescued a climber, 32 years old, who had broken an ankle and could not walk into Monachil (Granada). About 12:30 yesterday another climber who accompanied him notified the 112 service, which then launched a search with a helicopter. Due to weather conditions, with strong winds, he could not be rescued.

The man had warm clothes and spent the night in the shelter of La Caldera, until this morning. The Guardia Civil had rescued him and brought him to another shelter to be moved then to a health center.

In another incident, five other hikers, four men and one woman, were being sought in the Sierra de Huetor, as they were lost on a walk. It turned out that the emergency services were alerted in error.
