The ski resort of Sierra Nevada has remained closed to the public yesterday (Sunday 1st February) due to heavy wind gusts recorded up to 140 kilometers per hour at some times of the day and the heavy snows.
According to informed sources CETURSA, the company that manages this area in winter, snow has also been noted at low levels, but thanks to the work of snow removal machines using chains to access Pradollano was only necessary in the early hours of the morning.
The wind will abate somewhat today but further heavy rain and snow accompanied by high winds will continue throughout the week.
Our weather station has recorded over 46mm rain in the past 24 hours.
