AEMET has issued weather warnings for Sunday 1st and Monday 2nd February. For the 1st they are suggesting a 12 hour accumulated rainfall of 80mm (25mm in 1 hour!). With average freezing levels of between 1500m and 2000m we can expect much snowfall and high avalanche risk up high.

The weather will remain very poor and unsettled for the forthcoming week. This is today’s Mulhacen summit forecast from Meteo Exploration. Winds will remain high all week making the summits very difficult.
