More snow over the past weekend has supplemented already great levels of snow in the Sierra Nevada. This is the best start to a winter sports season for many years. All the major runs in the ski area are open. There is fantastic skiing on offer.
Temperatures remaining very cold with zero degrees in Lanjaron at 600m overnight. Above 3000m expect -15 without the windchill.
Off piste is very dangerous still with high avalanche risk and is not recommended yet. There will be some great ski mountaineering when the snowpack has consolidated more.
Mountaineering. Very difficult because of the deep and unconsolidated snow. Best sit this one out or go snowshoeing!
