The ski area above 1900m has some snow cover with about 25cm snow at the Hoya de la Mora and some drifting. The high winds built continuously during the day, as can be seen from this photo of Veleta with the Virgin of the Snows in the foreground.

The multi-layered lenticular clouds indicate not only high winds, but bad weather approaching.
The weather worsened during the day until thick mist blanketed the peak. We beat a cold retreat back to the welcoming bars of Lanjaron.
As can be seen from the photo to the right, our husky, Khumbu, loved it!
